 Metal Fence Mono, is a Monophonic mix compiled to a stereo file type, because nearly all devices play a stereo file, type whereas, very few devices play a dedicated Mono file type.   This allows you to hear and play a Mono mix on almost any device.  A mono mix is best for playing on devices with one speaker, or in an environment where you might be closer to one speaker, like in a car, or at a crowded party.  In these conditions, with a stereo or surround file you would only hear what was coming out of the speaker you are closest to, and may not be able to hear the whole song at all...  With a Mono mix, you hear the whole song out of every speaker.  Great for listening in a noisy environment.  The Mono mix is like listening to a band, from the view point of the audience, looking toward the stage, from about half way back, on an arena floor.  Quite an exciting mix, and very natural sounding.  The first recordings were monophonic, and just because many new technologies have come out since, like stereo and surround, monophonic recordings are still a great choice, and as the least expensive to produce, they are the super bargain of today.
